🇫🇷 Emotional Pogba Signs for Monaco After Doping Ban Comeback

Paul Pogba is officially back.
The former Manchester United and Juventus star has signed a two-year deal with AS Monaco, marking his return to professional football following a high-profile doping suspension.

🖊️ "Thanks for the Trust" – Pogba's Grateful Return

In a deeply emotional moment, the 32-year-old France international was visibly moved as he finalized his contract with Monaco. After signing the deal, Pogba turned to club officials and simply said,

“Thanks for the trust.”

This is a powerful new chapter in Pogba’s career, not only as a footballer but as a symbol of resilience.

🚫 Suspension, Appeal & Redemption

Pogba’s journey back to the pitch hasn’t been easy:

  • In 2023, he tested positive for DHEA, a banned substance that boosts testosterone, after Juventus' season opener against Udinese.

  • He was handed a four-year ban, which was later reduced to 18 months by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in October 2024.

  • CAS concluded that the substance was unintentionally ingested, clearing the way for his return.

He mutually terminated his contract with Juventus in November and became a free agent, eligible to resume his career as of March 2025.

🔙 A New Beginning in Ligue 1

Despite playing for top-tier clubs in England and Italy, this marks Pogba’s first appearance in France’s Ligue 1—a poetic return for the 2018 World Cup winner to his home country.

Monaco will be counting on Pogba’s experience, leadership, and midfield magic as they aim to challenge domestically and in European competition.

⚽ What This Move Means

Pogba's signing is a statement move by Monaco—a blend of redemption and ambition:

  • For Pogba: a chance to rewrite his narrative and show the world he’s still among the best midfielders in the game.

  • For Monaco: a seasoned veteran with global appeal and the ability to inspire a young squad.
