Liverpool Shut Down Bayern Munich’s Approach for Luis Diaz
Luis Diaz will not be leaving Liverpool this summer — that’s the clear message from Anfield after rejecting a formal approach from Bayern Munich for the in-form Colombian forward.
Bayern Told Diaz Is Not For Sale
Bayern’s director of sport Max Eberl made an official move for the 28-year-old attacker, but was met with a swift and firm rejection. Liverpool reportedly made it clear that Diaz is untouchable, and the club will not entertain any transfer discussions — not even for an astronomical fee.
This marks the second high-profile snub of the summer after Barcelona also expressed interest earlier in the window.
Key Player in a Title-Winning Season
Since joining from Porto in 2022, Diaz has become essential to Liverpool’s attacking setup. Under new boss Arne Slot, Diaz thrived last season, scoring 13 goals and providing seven assists in the Premier League, playing a pivotal role in the club’s championship-winning campaign.
He ended the 2024–25 season with 22 goals in total for club and country, cementing his reputation as one of Europe’s most dynamic wingers.
Two Years Left – But Diaz Is Calm
Diaz, who still has two years remaining on his current Liverpool contract, remains composed amid the speculation.
“I’m very happy at Liverpool — I’ve always said so,” Diaz said earlier this summer while on Colombia duty. “If Liverpool give us a good extension or I have to see out my two-year contract, I’ll be happy. It all depends on them.”
Interest has also been noted from Manchester City and clubs in Saudi Arabia, but Liverpool remain firm in their stance — Luis Diaz is staying.
